Memorial Day is all about honoring those that have paid the ultimate price for our freedom – and for that, we offer a moment of silence for those who have died during their military service.
For those out there that do not have to work and may want to take in the sites (whether you are local or want to travel) Abilene has lots going on over the weekend, so here’s a list of what’s happening at Old Abilene Town.
Our grounds open around 8am every day of the week – and will usually be open throughout the evening and locked up before dark. THANK YOU to the volunteers that help us by taking care of such things. Every weekend throughout the summer we have Gun-fighting reenactments by the Wild Bill Gunfighters and our own Can-Can dancers at the Alamo Saloon.
- Gunfighters will perform on Saturday at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30
- Alamo Saloon will be open on Saturday from 10am-4pm and Sunday from 12pm-4pm – Memorial Day’s times will be published once they are confirmed.
- Can-Can dancers will be performing in the afternoon at the Alamo Saloon
Come on out and join us if you can. We are working on multiple projects at this time and are always looking for input and support – so let us know if you want to learn more about membership!
